Persistent Optimism
2010
Glitter, air compressors, hose, fittings, buckets, funnels
Dimensions variable
220 kg of silver glitter was blown in randomised bursts down the walls of the gallery, piling in corners and gradually building into drifts on the floor. The ‘machine’ continued to function until it had consumed the glitter supply and buried itself in it’s own actions.
Thanks go to Anna Pappas Gallery for hosting this project and to the Australia Council for the Arts for their support through the ArtStart program.
